Story

In the dystopian city of Placeholder, every citizen lives under the control of a Master Brain chip, an implant that ensures success but enforces absolute obedience. Society is rigidly stratified by star levels, with the protagonist, a 3-star student council president named Bai, representing the compliant elite. However, a darker undercurrent exists with half-star citizens like Wang, who are considered societal outcasts and troublemakers.

The city faces an existential crisis when the brilliant scientist who invented the Master Brain chips, along with his entire lab team, vanishes. This halts the production of new chips, threatening the eventual collapse of society as existing implants degrade. Bai and his mother, Liu Xu, the alluring acting principal, must venture into a perilous virtual world linked to the missing lab. Their mission is to locate the father before time runs out, all while confronting internal corruption, external threats, and the chips' increasing influence over their own minds and desires.
